This summer, the Wynn Las Vegas will be hosting its Summer Classic poker series with traditional offerings as well as a huge new event.
In the summer months, poker players usually head to Las Vegas to be able to take part in the WSOP. This year, the WSOP has been moved to the fall months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, what will players be doing this summer in Las Vegas when it comes to poker? Instead of WSOP action, players can look forward to the Wynn Summer Classic at the Wynn Las Vegas. The popular series is set for May, June and July and offers plenty of action, including a new monster $10 million event.
The Summer Classic will begin on May 27 and continue through July 13. There will be more than 30 events on the schedule, providing ample opportunity to compete in big events. Over $16 million will be up for grabs across the events, with plenty of options to choose from. The series will include hold’em events along with pot limit Omaha, HORSE, Omaha 8 or better, and more.
The series will start with the NLH $4K Survivor tournament which has a $40,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players start with 20,000 in chips and blind levels will increase every 30 minutes. There is also a No Limit Hold’em event the first week which has a larger $1,100 buy-in and $1 million in total prize money. Blind levels in this event move up every 20 minutes.
There are also satellites on offer during the series, providing players with plenty of ways to earn a seat to various events. Before the Hold’em Event, there are satellites provided that have a $200 buy-in. Five seats are guaranteed to the Hold’em tournament per satellite.
Another big event on the schedule is the Mystery Bounty. This tournament has a $1,600 buy-in and features a $1,500,000 prize pool. Blind levels go up every 40 minutes with chip stacks starting at 30,000.
The most anticipated event on the Wynn Summer Classic schedule is going to be the new Wynn Millions. This event has a buy-in of $10,000 and will offer a total of $10 million in total prize money. The event has three day 1s and will provide players with 40,000 in starting chips with 60/90 minute blinds.
This will be the largest event that the Wynn has hosted when it comes to poker and it is expected to see a large turnout. Whether or not it meets the guarantee is anyone’s guess. Players can pay the full $10,000 buy-in to compete or take part in satellites.
The casino is offering up satellites to the Wynn Millions for $1,100 which is a good bit lower than the original buy-in. In the satellite, there are 30 minute blind levels and 20,000 chip stacks. There are satellites that offer 10 seats guaranteed while others provide three seats.
Since the series does not kick off until next month, players have plenty of time to look at the Wynn Summer Classic schedule and decide on which events to take part in. With satellites, players can easily try to earn seats for big events or use the direct buy-in to take part.
