WPN´s Million Dollar Sunday Event Just Three Days Away

Over the next few days, the Winning Poker Network will be hosting satellites guaranteeing hundreds of seats into Sunday´s $1,000,000 guaranteed event.

The Winning Poker Network´s Million Dollar Sunday is the most valuable online poker tournament open to players throughout the United States. Guaranteeing a minimum of $200,000 to the winner, the tournament attracts many top names from the world of poker – Bill Perkins, Jeff Gross and 2015 WSOP Main Event runner-up Josh Beckley all seen at the tables when the event was last held in April.

Players from the rest of the world are also invited to play in the Million Dollar Sunday, and Europeans have a particularly good record in the tournament – former winners including Tony Guoga and Rupert Elder. In fact, so popular is the Million Dollar Sunday, that the last time the event was held, the total prize pool was 30% higher than the corresponding Sunday Million on PokerStars.

The Million Dollar Sunday event gets underway at 4:00pm (all times ET) this coming Sunday. It has a direct buy-in of $540.00, and an unlimited number of re-entries is allowed during the five hours of late registration. Players start with 10,000 chips and blinds of 15/30, and by the time late registration closes at the end of Level 20, the blinds will have risen to 500/1,000 with a 100 chip ante.

The fifteen minute levels result is some fairly sedate play during the opening exchanges, during which time there are plenty of other events running in the Network´s OSS Cub3d series. Consequently, the Million Dollar Sunday tournament is not expected to be over quickly. In April, the event attracted 2,744 entries and, despite a four-way deal at the final table, took more than 15½ hours to complete.

Million Dollar Qualifiers Running around the Clock

In order to qualify as many people into the event as possible, the Winning Poker Network is hosting a comprehensive schedule of satellites and sub-satellites. As usual, the Network will be hosting three big Mega-Satellites on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and hundreds of sub-satellites feeding into them with buy-ins starting at just $3.30. The three Mega-Satellites to look out for are:

• Friday September 1st @ 7:30pm. Friday´s $66.00 buy-in Mega-Satellite guarantees a minimum of 50 seats for the Million Dollar Sunday.
• Saturday September 2nd @ 7:30pm. Saturday´s more popular $66.00 buy-in Mega-Satellite will guarantee 100 seats for the Million Dollar Sunday.
• Sunday September 3rd @ 11:30am. The 150 players who qualify via Sunday´s $88.00 buy-in Mega-Satellite will likely be playing back-to-back tournaments.

Players who fail to qualify for the Million Dollar Sunday via one of the Mega-Satellites still have plenty of alternate paths into the event. The Network is hosting $2.00 buy-in “On Demand” re-buy and add-on qualifiers on a rolling basis, a two-stage “Steps program” with buy-ins of $10.00 and $100.00, and – during late registration – a host of last-minute hyper-satellites with buy-ins of $5.00 and $20.00.
