Time Running Out for 888Poker´s Road to Vegas Promotions

WSOP 2019

With the start of the 2019 World Series of Poker just a couple of weeks away, time is running out to take advantage of 888Poker´s Road to Vegas promotions.

At the start of the year, 888Poker launched its annual Road to Vegas promotions giving players the opportunity to ladder up two Steps promotions with the chance of winning a package to the World Series of Poker Main Event or the WSOP Crazy Eights tournament. To date, 58 players have booked their places on the Road to Vegas, but time is running out if you want to join them.

The promotions are really good. The WSOP Main Event Road to Vegas consists of a seven-stage Steps promotion that starts at just 1 cent and culminates in a $1,050 buy-in Final with a $12,600 WSOP package up for grabs. The Crazy Eights Road to Vegas is much shorter – consisting of just three Steps starting at Freebuy level – and offering players the chance to win a package valued at $2,600.

The WSOP Main Event Road to Vegas Promotion

The WSOP Main Event Road to Vegas promotion is a little convoluted, so it takes a little understanding. The first thing to understand is that you can buy into any of the seven Steps at any level and don´t have to start your journey at the 1 cent level. In fact, the closer towards the end of the week and weekly Final it is, the better it is to jump in at a higher level.

The “Road” starts with a ten-player Sit & Go game costing 1 cent to enter. The winner gets a tournament entry ticket into Step 2, which is another ten-player Sit & Go game. If you win that game, you get a ticket for a Step 3 Multi-Table Tournament. There are also Step 1 and Step 2 re-buy Multi-Table Tournaments running throughout the day at 888 Poker which award tickets according to the number of entries.

Steps 3, 4, and 5, consist of Multi-Table Tournaments with buy-ins of $1.00, $5.00, and $16.50 respectively. These guarantee a minimum of one ticket for the next Step, but often pay out more due to the number of entries they attract. If you win a Step 5 tournament, Step 6 consists of a $109 buy-in tournament which – depending on the time of day – guarantees up to five seats in the weekly Final.

Before we discuss the weekly Final, there is an alternative route to the target tournament. It consists of a $5.00 buy-in sub-satellite that feeds into a $30 buy-in satellite that guarantees one seat in the weekly Final. If you take this route, you are replacing the $16.50 buy-in Step 5 and $109 buy-in Step 6 with a $30 satellite; which could accelerate your trip to the Final, albeit by a tougher road.

The weekly Final takes place each Sunday at 8:30pm (BST). There is two hours late registration allowed, during which time you can re-buy a maximum of twice if your chip stack falls to one chip or less. If you choose to join the game at the last minute (at the end of Level 11), the starting stack of 5,000 chips will be the equivalent of 12.5 Big Blinds; and, if you win the Final, your prize will consist of:

  • The $10,000 buy-in for the WSOP Main Event
  • 6 nights´ accommodation at the Vdara Hotel
  • $1,000 towards your travelling costs

Because the buy-in is paid directly to the World Series of Poker in your name, you can´t sell or exchange your prize or allow anybody else to use it. You´ll also be expected to wear 888Poker gear while playing in the event, so make sure you pack something that matches the patches! The 888Poker Main Event Road to Vegas promotion runs until Sunday June 9th.

The WSOP Crazy Eights Road to Vegas Promotion

This Road to Vegas promotion is much simpler to understand. It starts with a daily Freebuy tournament that awards tournament tickets worth $16.50 to the top ten players – or more players depending on the amount of money collected in re-buys (unlimited for 50 minutes @ $0.50 each) and add-ons (max 3 allowed at $1.50 each). These have a hyper-turbo format, so they are very much action-packed events.

The tournament tickets can be used to buy into a sub-satellite awarding six seats in the twice-weekly WSOP Crazy Eights Package Qualifier (the Final Step of three). Alternatively, you can buy-in directly to the Qualifier for $109.00. The Qualifier guarantees one package worth $2,600, but could pay out more packages if 52 players or more enter the Qualifier tournament. The Crazy Eights packages consist of:

  • The $888 buy-in for the WSOP Crazy Eights Event
  • 3 nights´ accommodation at the Rio Hotel
  • $1,000 towards your travelling costs

Like the Main Event promotion, the WSOP Crazy Eights Road to Vegas is a must play event. You will not be allowed to sell, it, exchange it for cash, or let somebody else use your prize. However, if you fancy attempting to win a trip to Las Vegas via this part of the promotion, you have an extra week to do so. The 888Poker Crazy Eights Road to Vegas promotion runs until Sunday June 16th.

Our Advice: Don´t Leave it Until the Last Minute

There may still be five or six weeks to go until the two promotions close, but if you leave it until the last minute to try and win a package to the World Series of Poker, the fields will be much bigger and the road will become harder to navigate. Therefore, visit 888Poker today; and, if you´ve not already done so, make your first deposit in order to be eligible for an enhanced first deposit bonus up to $600.
