The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is in full swing and players are showing up in record-setting numbers to take part.
The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is a popular series in Florida that usually sees a great turnout. Players come from all over to take part and in 2021, it seems the crowds are quite large. After having very few live poker gaming options to enjoy last year, it looks like everyone decided to take part in the Showdown. After about a week of gaming, the first few events have seen huge crowds, as players try to get in on the gaming action.
As mentioned, players are turning out in record numbers. Not only are events meeting their guaranteed prize pools, they are smashing them. Take the $600 Deep Stack NHL event for example. This tournament had a $600 buy-in and a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The field ended up being massive with over 3,900 entries. This pushed the prize pool to a whopping $2,048,550!
So many players are competing in events that the casino has had to take more breaks during events just to handle everything. It’s crazy to see how many players are taking part and pushing up guarantees to astronomical levels.
There is much more to come from the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and it will be interesting to see the total results once it is all said and done. Today, the series kicks off the NLH Championship event. This tournament has a buy-in of $3,500 and is a single re-entry per day. The prize pool here is $2,000,000. Will it meet the guarantee or how far over will it go?
On April 24, the series will kick off the Deep Stack Turbo No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out. This event has a buy-in of $1,100. The next day, players can take part in the Big Stack Black Chip Bounty NLH tournament. This event is a single re-entry as well and has a $400 buy-in. A total of $50,000 in guaranteed prize money is up for grabs.
There are more Big Stack events on April 25 and 26. Late on the 25th, players can compete in the Big Stack Turbo NLH/PLO event. This tournament has a buy-in of $600 and features re-entry. On the 26th, there is the Big Stack No Limit Hold’em event with a $600 buy-in as well. It has a total prize pool of $50,000.
For high rollers, on April 26, the series will offer the High Roller NLH event. It has a $25,500 buy-in and offers re-entry. The event will take place at the casino in Salon West. Players looking for a smaller option can compete in the Big Stack NLH on April 26. This event has a low $150 buy-in but is only open to 295 players per day.
We will stay tuned to the Showdown and keep track of the results as other events finish up. It will be interesting to see if the remaining tournaments increase prize pool guarantees and if so, by just how much. Will it be crazy amounts or just small increases due to more player participation?
