PokerStars Releases Mobile For Android In Spanish MarketThe world’s top online poker site has rolled out another mobile offering, this time releasing an Android app for players in Spain.

Spanish mobile players will experience near-complete playing capabilities as those enjoyed by desktop or laptop users. The Android app allows for players on the go to select pot-limit Omaha and Texas Hold’em, and to choose their favorites among tournaments, SitNGos, cash games and Zoom Poker. Multi-tabling functions are also available.

The app was available first in Italy in January, followed in February by its launch in the United Kingdom. By April, it was deployed extensively on PokerStars.eu, PokerStars.fr and PokerStars.net. In the Spanish market, PokerStars.es has been online about a month, and already dominates play in that region with roughly 60% of the market’s cash players.

Mobile applications for the Spanish market are often delayed due to strict oversight of Spanish regulators. Apple also has its own often times lengthy process of approving apps, although those for the iPad and iPhone are expected to be rolled out shortly. Players wishing to download the Android app can do so at pokerstars.es/mobile.

Players in certain countries such as Denmark, Belgium and Canada are still without mobile app access because of various regulatory procedures or different terms and conditions emanating from the Apple App Store in those countries. PokerStars has not released a definitive time frame for app rollouts in particular regions, instead announcing that a “multi-phase release plan” will continue.
