Poker players who are also fans of auto racing will enjoy PokerStars’ newest promo that will award the top 20 finishers of a $2 poker tournament the opportunity to cheer on a driver in the upcoming Russian Grand Prix. The player whose driver wins the Big Race will receive a €7,200 prize package to EPT Prague.
There are additional prizes to be won in the Big Race promotion that include $2,500 in free wagers at BetStars, the sports betting platform affiliated with PokerStars. The free bets will be distributed to the top 500 finishers of the $2 poker tournament that will send one player to Prague for the EPT.

1 thru 20 A randomly selected Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix driver
Remember, the player with the winning driver gets a €7,200 trip to Prague that includes the €5,300 EPT Main Event buy-in, eight nights of accommodations at the Hilton Prague Hotel, and €500 walking around money. EPT Prague is scheduled for Dec. 7-18 and promises to be an action-packed poker festival.
The Russian Grand Prix is set for September 30 at the Sochi Autodrom in Sochi, Russia. The racetrack is located in Olympic Park, the same venue that hosted the Winter Olympics in 2014.
Sweat the Race
PokerStars players may remember that the same type of promotion was run earlier this year, but for a big-time horse race. A poker player named Chris Hopgood finished among the top players in the $2 poker tournament and was randomly paired with “Native River” in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Jockey Richard Johnson brought Native River home ahead of the favored “Might Bite” last March, making a winner of Hopgood. A trip to PokerStars Festival Marbella was Hopgood’s prize under a package valued at £3,000. Hopgood’s investment was a mere $2.
The upcoming Formula One Russian Grand Prix may prove even more exciting than the Cheltenham Gold Cup. And 20 PokerStars players will be sweating the race, hoping that their driver will send them to Prague for the EPT festival.
Perhaps the 500 winners of the Big Race poker tournament who receive free bets ranging from $2 to $50 will use some of their free bets for the Russian Grand Prix. BetStars will begin accepting wagers on the auto race on Sept. 17.
