Following the announcement of the $10 million guaranteed Sunday Million tournament on December 18, and their attempt to beat their existing world record for an online poker tournament on Sunday December 4th, another feature Sunday tournament is getting a boosted guaranteed prize pool for one night only.
On Sunday 11th December, PokerStars are going to increase the guarantee on the popular Sunday Storm tournament from $200,000 to $1 million, with at least $150,000 going to the winner. Not only is this $10.00 buy-in tournament going to have five times its normal prize money, but if you knock out any Team PokerStars Pros or a member of PokerStars Team Online you win an additional $100.00. Plenty of “Stars” are anticipated to take their seats at the event, so there is a fantastic opportunity to pick up some extra cash just before Christmas.
Not only is this a tournament well within the bankroll of most online poker players, but PokerStars are also hosting a “social network” freeroll to the event this coming Friday – 18th November – at 4.00pm GMT. Entry to the tournament is (obviously) free, but you have to get the password to enter the game from PokerStars Twitter or Facebook pages. The tournament is being run along the lines of a $0.10 re-buy/add-on, with 10 seats in the target event guaranteed plus a further seat for each $11.00 collected during the re-buy/ add-on period.
[geolink href=”https://www.pokernewsreport.com/pokerstars”]PokerStars[/geolink] have also announced that they are offering a PokerStars reload bonus of 10% for all players making a deposit into their account between now and the end of November. The bonus is capped at $10.00, so has been met with a little bit of derision by some pundits in the online poker media, but the bonus has been made easy to clear – with just $2.00 in rake or paid in tournament entry fees required to have the funds credited to your bankroll.
As a further part of PokerStars 10th Anniversary celebrations, do not forget to get involved in the “10th Anniversary Giveaway”. Each Sunday until December 11th, two tournament series finals are scheduled – both “giving away” $10,000 in prize money to the top 1,000 finishers and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure packages to the top 10. Qualification for the finals is via a “Giveaway Freeroll” (one starts about every ten minutes on the site) or a 10 Frequent Player Point qualifier – with the FPP Games offering twice as many seats into the weekly finals.
