Online poker site PartyPoker.com is to give all their tournament players the opportunity to gain some great value for money after “an industry first” of withdrawing all entry charges to their MTTs (Multi-Table Tournaments) for the foreseeable future.
The removal of the rake will result in all cash paid in by players going into what should be massive prize pools at PartyPoker to therefore make guarantees easier to hit.
A spokesperson for PartyPoker said that these events will secure “an industry first (as) all MTTs on PartyPoker.com are completely rake-free”.
The online poker site representative gave examples of what players can expect, with “the buy-in to a main online satellite for the Summer Million – the main event of which takes place on Sunday, August 7” – having been “changed from $600+$40 to $640+$0, while the rake is also waived on all feeder qualifiers”.
Events that possess a $6 and above buy-in will see that reduced, so, for example, a $20 plus $2 tournament will now be a $20 plus $0 tournament.
Meanwhile, tournaments under $6 will have the rake added to the buy-in, so a $2.70 plus 30¢ event becomes a $3 event.
Additionally, this policy is great news for players hoping to make it to live tournaments because,“as the rake-free period applies to all MTT tournaments, qualifiers for events such as WPT (World Poker Tour) Paris and GSOP (Grand Series of Poker) Manchester also have new structures which incorporate no fees”.
The WPT Paris runs from September 5-10 – with a $7,500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout main event of six days – while the GSOP Manchester takes place between August 2 and 7.
Qualifying for the event at Manchester United Football Club’s Old Trafford stadium have already started and will run until July 17, with players attempting to pick up a fabulous $3,600 prize package that includes $700 in spending money.
Each package includes the $1,650 GSOP Manchester main event buy-in, five nights’ accommodation at a luxury hotel, a tour of Old Trafford, a welcome celebration, and PartyPoker’s world-renowned hospitality. Daily qualifiers – including freerolls – and weekly satellites run until July 17.
