Party Poker to Host Hurricane Dorian Charity Tournament

Party Poker is giving away eight packages to the Caribbean Poker Party in a special online tournament organized to support the survivors of Hurricane Dorian.

On the 1st September, the first major hurricane of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season – Hurricane Dorian – made landfall in the Bahamas. It was the most powerful hurricane ever to hit the Bahamas and, over the next seven days, it was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people. More than one thousand residents of the islands are still missing.

International relief efforts are well underway, but the country needs as much support as it can get to help the survivors of Hurricane Dorian and enable the country to recover from its financial impact – estimated at $7 billion. Consequently Party Poker is hosting a special charity tournament and donating the buy-ins for the event to the relief effort.

Party Poker´s Hurricane Dorian Charity Tournament

Party Poker´s Hurricane Dorian charity tournament will take place on Sunday 13th October at 9:00pm CEST. It has a direct buy-in of $100 and unlimited re-buys of 25,000 chips are allowed during the fifteen 10-minute levels of late registration. The tournament has a nice slow structure, with blinds starting at 250/500 (ante 55) and increasing by no more than 10 percent per level.

All the money raised from buy-ins and re-buys will be donated to the Hurricane Dorian relief effort. So, to give players an incentive to take part in the event, Party Poker is putting up eight packages to the Caribbean Poker Party in November as prizes. Between them, the packages have a combined value of $78,000, so as well as donating to a worthwhile cause, players have a chance of winning a valuable prize.

Players finishing in the top three positions will win a full package to the Caribbean Poker Party which includes the $10,300 buy-in to the $10 million guaranteed MILLIONS World tournament, while players finishing in fourth to eight positions will win a package that includes the $1,100 buy-in to the $1 million guaranteed Mini Main Event plus accommodation and a contribution towards travelling expenses.

Party Poker´s Caribbean Poker Party takes place between the 15th and 24th November at the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau – an area of the Bahamas that did not experience the full impact of Hurricane Dorian. The “Party” consists of seventeen feature tournaments, dozens of live satellites, and cash games running around the clock as well as a host of live entertainment and activities.

Party Poker also Accepting Donations towards the Relief Effort

Donations can be made in values of $10, $25, $50, or $100 directly from players´ accounts via the “Charity Donation Holding Tanks” in the Party Poker Live lobby of the poker client.
