If you play at a site on the Winning Poker Network (WPN) – [geolink href=”https://www.pokernewsreport.com/americas-cardroom”]Americas Cardroom[/geolink] or [geolink href=”https://www.pokernewsreport.com/black-chip-poker”]Black Chip Poker[/geolink] for example – a new promotion is heading your way in which you could win the $10,000 buy-in for the World Series of Poker Main Event, plus have change left to pay for your travel to Las Vegas and accommodation when you get there.
The promotion will particularly suit Sit & Go players, as it primarily consists of a Steps program. However, the option also exists to opt out of the Steps program at Level 6, and use your Steps ticket to play in a WSOP Mega-Satellite in July. The WSOP Mega-Satellite guarantees fifty players will also win their buy-in to the WSOP Main Event plus change.
The WSOP Steps program consists of eight levels with buy-ins starting at $0.25 and increasing up to $2,950. Each Step is a full-ring, nine player turbo Sit & Go game (five minute blinds) in which players start with 1,500 chips. The winner of each Step – and in most cases the second-placed player as well – will win a ticket to the next Step. There are also cash prizes to be won in certain Steps (see table below).
Step | Buy-In (inc. fee) | First | Second | Third | Fourth |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
0 | $0.28 | Step 1 Ticket | $0.30 | $0.30 | |
1 | $1.65 | Step 2 Ticket | Step 2 Ticket | $0.30 | |
2 | $6.60 | Step 3 Ticket | Step 3 Ticket | Step 3 Ticket | |
3 | $16.50 | Step 4 Ticket | Step 4 Ticket | $25.00 | |
4 | $55.00 | Step 5 Ticket | Step 5 Ticket | Step 5 Ticket | |
5 | $150.00 | Step 6 Ticket | Step 6 Ticket | $180.00 | |
6 | $540.00 | Step 7 Ticket | $775.00 | $465.00 | $310.00 |
7 | $2,950.00 | WSOP “Package” | WSOP “Package” | $200.00 |
Each Step can be bought into directly to accelerate the passage through the program. So, for example, you could start at Step 4 to avoid the need to play through the previous Steps. The Network has already announced plans to award higher level Steps tickets as prizes in its weekly “Sit & Crush” tournaments. This will ensure that – unlike Steps programs on some other networks – the Winning Poker Network´s WSOP Steps program is not going to run out of steam as it reaches the higher levels.
Please note that although the first prize is advertised as a WSOP “Package”, the actual first prize is $12,500 in cash. The money will be paid into winners´ accounts as soon as anti-collusion security checks are completed. Players left with unused Steps tickets at the end of the promotion will be able to exchange them for another yet-to-be-announced promotion or possibly use them as part-payment for the WSOP Mega-Satellite buy-in.
The WSOP Mega-Satellite will take place on Sunday 2nd July at 3:00pm (ET). It will be open to all players with an unused Step 6 Steps ticket or can be bought into directly for $540.00. The tournament will likely have the same structure as the Network´s popular Million Dollar Sunday events and will award the top fifty players with a $12,500 WSOP Main Event “Package”.
Prior to the WSOP Mega-Satellite, the Network will likely announce a comprehensive schedule of satellites and sub-satellites enabling players to qualify for the target event for pennies on the dollar. The Network´s satellite schedules often start at “Freebuy” level, and it is also possible to win an entry into any of the Steps Sit & Go games, satellites or the Mega-Satellite itself by playing the “Spin to Get IN” slot game in each tournament lobby.
Although the Winning Poker Network primarily caters for players based in the US, players from all over the world have the opportunity to win a “package” to the WSOP Main Event. What is likely to appeal to many players is that the WSOP Steps promotion and Mega-Satellite are skill-based events rather than the gimmicky promotions being offered by some other networks.
If you believe you have the skill to qualify for the WSOP Main Event, head over to a site on the Winning Poker Network today. The WSOP Steps have just been released under the “WSOP” tab in the Sit & Go lobby, and games are filling up quickly. If you win your entry in the WSOP Main Event through this promotion, we would love to hear from you and follow your adventure in Las Vegas. Good luck.
