London Poker Championship Begins Tonight

The Grosvenor Victoria London Poker Championship kicks off this evening at The Vic, with seven tournaments scheduled to take place in various versions of poker, including Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha, as well as six-max and bounty events.

A £200+£20 (€229/$322+€22.90/$32.20) No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout (100-player maximum) starts the championship, while the £300+£30 (€343/$483+€34.30/$48.30) main event begins on Saturday and will be completed the following day.

A total of 182 participants fought it out in last year’s main event to create a prize pool of nearly £55,000 (€62,860/$88.540), with England’s Qamran Ghani picking up £15,540 (€17,760/$25,000) for the win.

However, this week’s main event look set to surpass that mark as two opening flights have been arranged for 14:00 (BST) and 19:00 starts.
