This Sunday, 888 Poker is hosting its final Battle of Malta qualifier in which players can win a package to one of Europe´s most popular live poker events.
The Battle of Malta has been a feature on the European live poker circuit since 2012 and grown in popularity every year. From its relatively modest beginnings – when the Main Event attracted 349 players – it has become a must-attend event for European players. Last year´s Main Event saw 3,816 players battle it out for the $1,850,760 prize pool.
This year´s Battle of Malta takes place from 15th to 22nd October in the spectacular Eden Arena on the second floor of the InterContinental Conference Centre in St Julian´s. The tournament schedule consists of thirty-five tournaments and satellites, with the feature tournament being the €555 buy-in Main Event which has a million Euros guaranteed prize pool.
If you would like to attend this year´s event, the most cost-efficient way of getting involved is to win a package via 888 Poker´s Battle of Malta qualifiers. The packages valued at $1,650 include the Main Event entry, accommodation at the InterContinental Hotel, and a contribution towards travel expenses; but you will have to be quick, as the final Battle of Malta qualifier takes place this coming Sunday.
888 Poker´s final Battle of Malta qualifier gets underway at 7:30pm (all times CEST) on Sunday with late registration open until 9:00pm. It has a direct buy-in of $55 and a maximum of two re-buys/re-entries are allowed during the late registration period. However, there is no add-on at the end of late registration, by which time the starting stack of 3,000 chips will be worth the equivalent of six big blinds.
The final number of packages available as prizes won´t be known until after late registration has closed. 888 Poker guaranteed one package, but as more than forty players have already entered Sunday´s tournament, the prize pool already stands at three packages. The likelihood is more than ten players will be packing their suitcases and checking their passports once the tournament is over.
There are stacks of satellites and sub-satellites available for players with limited bankrolls. The “Steps to Major Tournaments” satellites have buy-ins starting at just $0.01, with further buy-in points at $0.10, $1.00, and $5.00. 888 Poker is also running special Battle of Malta sub-satellites with a buy-in of $5.50 and sub-sub-satellites feeding into these events with buy-ins of just $0.55.
If you are up for a battle in Malta, don´t leave it until the last minute to book your seat in Sunday´s final qualifier. As the weekend approaches, satellites feeding into Sunday´s tournament are likely to be more competitive – making seats harder to win. Therefore visit 888 Poker today, find a satellite or sub-satellite with a buy-in that suits your bankroll and start dreaming of Malta.
