888 Poker’s XL Eclipse series reaches its climax on Sunday – meaning that players only have a few days left to bag a free seat in the $500,000 Main Event.
888 Poker´s XL Eclipse series has been more successful than many people imagined it would be considering it was scheduled at the same time as PokerStars´ WCOOP, Party Poker´s KO Series, the GGNetwork´s Good Game series, and the Winning Poker Network´s High Five series. Of nineteen tournaments played to date, eighteen have beaten their guarantees – some by as much as 50 percent – with only last night´s High Roller tournament costing the site a modest overlay.
The results to date bode well for the rest of the series, particularly the $500,000 guaranteed XL Eclipse Main Event which gets underway at 5:00pm (all times GMT) on Sunday. Although the Main Event has a buy-in of $250, more than four hundred players have already qualified for the target tournament – either through 888 Poker´s comprehensive satellite schedule, or via the free qualifiers running every evening at 8:00pm. The free qualifiers finish this coming Saturday.
The free qualifiers are open to anyone who has made a real money deposit into their 888 Poker account and can be found in the tournament lobby of the 888 Poker client under the XL Eclipse tab (they often don´t appear until a few hours before each qualifier is due to start). The qualifiers are pure freezeouts inasmuch as there are no re-entries allowed nor re-buys and add-ons. The top ten players in each qualifier will be awarded a seat into the XL Eclipse Main Event.
It´s important to note that, if you bag a seat for the XL Eclipse Main Event, you should be sent an email from 888 Poker containing a link you have to click on to claim your seat. If you don´t receive the email, it may be caught by an over-enthusiastic spam filter, or it may be because you´re not using the same email address as when you first opened your account. So, be sure to add 888 Poker to your contacts and check your 888 profile to make sure the email address is current.
888 Poker is currently hosting plenty of opportunities for players to enhance their bankrolls by playing in freeroll tournaments. In addition to the free-to-enter qualifiers for the XL Eclipse Main Event, there are social media freeroll tournaments, 888Poker Club freeroll tournaments, Lucky BLAST freeroll tournaments (that pay six hundred places deep), and Depositors´ freeroll tournaments. Most of these are only accessible to players who have made a real money deposit.
In addition to the freeroll tournaments, there are also “freebuy” tournaments feeding into the site´s “Big Fish” events. These tournaments don´t have an entry fee; but, during the first hour of each freebuy, players can pay for an unlimited number of re-buys (from 1c and 10c) and purchase up to three add-ons (from 5c to 25c) at the end of the late registration period. The prize money in the target events can be as much as $15,000, so these freebuy tournaments are well worth considering.
With only a few days remaining until the end of the XL Eclipse series, time is running out for players to bag a free seat in the $500,000 guaranteed Main Event. If you are not already playing at the site, you should read our 888 Poker review to see how you can claim up to $88 for free plus benefit from a 100% bonus on your first deposit. Remember, you will have to make a real money deposit before being allowed to play in the free-to-enter XL Eclipse Main Event qualifiers; so don´t miss out on the free cash – visit 888 Poker today.
