James Bord Goes Full Tilt on John JuandaFollowing the dramatic announcement from Phil Ivey that he would not be participating in this year’s WSOP, more (ex-) Full Tilt pros hit the headlines for the wrong reasons at the Rio last night.

UK poker player James Bord laid into John Juanda after losing his game in the Heads-UP NLHE Championship, accusing him of being a “thieving prick” and threatening “If i see you in the parking lot, i’m going to beat your ass“. The Rio security ended the altercation quickly, but the reason for the outburst is still unclear.

Early speculation suggested that Bord was making a stand for Full Tilt Poker players who have not yet been paid out, but as Juanda has little to do with the machine that is barely clinging on to its position as the second biggest online poker site in the world, this was dismissed as being a little too noble by Bord.

Instead, it is more likely to be the continuation of a disagreement the two players allegedly had in Macau in April when the two former WSOPE winners were playing in some very high stakes games with the likes of Tom Dwan and Sam Tricket.

Ironically, Full Tilt has a feature tournament called the “Sunday Brawl” – We wonder if this was even blatant advertising from a company which now has a limited marketing budget!
