GGPoker is celebrating the site´s sponsored ambassador – Bryn Kenney – breaking the $55 million barrier in live poker earnings by hosting Bryn´s Poker Party.
By anyone´s standards, Bryn Kenney is having a pretty good year. It started with a victory in the Aussie Millions Main Event, improved when he took down the high rollers event at the US Poker Open, got significantly better with four cashes in the Triton Series in Jeju and Montenegro, and went through the roof earlier this month with a second place finish in the Triton Million for Charity event.
Kenney´s earnings from live poker this year alone come to more than $29 million, and he has now overtaken Justin Bonomo as poker´s all-time most winningest player with more than $55 million in lifetime cashes. To put his achievement into context, his lifetime earnings are nearly $14 million more than Daniel Negreanu, $27 million more than Antonio Esfandiari, and $29 million more than Phil Ivey.
Bryn Kenney´s sensational run of form is good news for GGPoker. The world´s third-largest online poker site signed Kenney as its ambassador in March last year; and, wherever he travels in the world, he raises awareness of the site. GGPoker could not ask for a better profile at present, and to celebrate its ambassador breaking the $55 million barrier, the site is throwing Bryn´s Poker Party this week.
Bryn´s Poker Party consists of three $1 buy-in re-buy and add-on tournaments with extra prize money added to each. The first of the three tournaments was played last night; but, due to limited marketing, the event only attracted 122 players. The seventeen players who cashed shared in $1,500 added prize money on top of the $369 collected in tournament buy-ins, rebuys, and add-ons.
The next leg of Bryn´s Poker Party takes place on Wednesday night at 8:10pm GMT with sixty minutes of late registration. This leg will also have $1,500 added to the prize pool; and, for the $1.00 buy-in, players get a starting stack of 3,000 chips to face blinds of 30/60 which increase every five minutes. During the late registration period, players can take advantage of unlimited re-buys; and, at the end of Level 12, the option exists to purchase a 5,000 chip add-on.
The final leg of Bryn´s Poker Party is scheduled for Sunday at 8:10 GMT. The tournament will have the same buy-in and structure as the previous legs, but instead of $1,500 added prize money, this tournament will have $2,000 in added prize money – plus the site will be giving away a host of extra GGPoker goodies throughout the tournament. Players interested in finding out more about these extra goodies should follow @GGPokerOfficial on Twitter.
