The World Series of Poker is postponed to after the summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, WSOP officials still wanted to give players an opportunity to take part in their favorite tournament during the summer by offering the online version on WSOP. It will take place on two platforms — WSOP.com and GGPoker.

WSOP.com will offer events that’ll be targeted at US players, whereas GGPoker will offer international events. So far, we were able to take a peek at events offered at WSOP.com, but GGPoker kept quiet until recently.

The platform will host 54 events that will offer players an opportunity to win a gold bracelet — one of the highest accolades in the world of poker. The events will start on July 19 and last through Sept. 6, which means the entire month of August will be filled with events.

The buy-ins for these events will range from $25,000 (for NLH Poker Players Championship) to $50 (for $50 BIG 50, which will be the lowest buy-in for a bracelet event ever recorded).

Main Event Offers $25 Million GTD

The most important part of the tournament will be the Main Event, which will take place on Aug. 16. Players will have to pay a total of $5,000 to take part in it.

The most successful ones will have an opportunity to win a slice of the $25-million cake. This will be the biggest-ever guaranteed prize for an online event, meaning we will witness a new Guinness world record.

The event will feature multiple days, and it will be a freezeout competition, meaning no additional buy-ins will be allowed. Day 2 will start on Aug. 30.

Apart from the Main Event, players will have an opportunity to take part in many other events such as the Mini Main Event, COLOSSUS, PLOSSUS, The Opener, and more. The total amount of money that is offered via guaranteed prizes in all events is $60 million, but it’s expected that this number will be surpassed with players’ buy-ins.

The second biggest event when it comes to guaranteed prizes is the NLH Poker Players Championship, which will offer $10 million. The third biggest if the WSOP Super MILLION$, which will offer $5 GTD.

Most of the events that are part of the WSOP Online will come in the form of no-limit hold ’em, but there will also be plenty of opportunities for those who like to enjoy pot-limit Omaha. Finally, there will be plenty of limit hold ’em, as well as short deck events.

GG Poker also announced that there would be plenty of micro and low stake tournaments that will lead up to some of the events that are part of the World Series of Poker Online.

One of the novelties is that players will have an opportunity to choose an event that they want to become part of the WSOP Online offer. In other words, there will be a poll to see which events will take place as Events #47-50.

Two of these events will be decided after the poll is over, the third will be decided by the vote of professional players, and the last will depend on the element of luck as the wheel will determine what event would take up the last spot.

This summer will be filled with WSOP events, and some players will have an opportunity to win a lot of money, too, as WSOP Online aims to break all records set in the online poker industry and create history along the way.
