Dates and Schedule Released for PokerFest Live

PartyPoker has released the dates and schedule for its £620,000 guaranteed PokerFest Live series at the Dusk till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham.

Most online poker players will identify the name “PokerFest” with PartyPoker´s regular online tournament series. However, for “PokerFest Live”, PartyPoker is moving the action (mostly) offline and into the superb environment of the Dusk till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham.

The ten event series kicks off on Sunday 23^rd August with an online Day 1 for the £330 buy-in Main Event and the first of twelve online Day 1s for the £70 buy-in “Mini” event. The action moves into Nottingham´s famous poker club the following Friday for the first of five live Day 1s of the “Mini” event and continues up until Sunday 6^th September.

Prizes Geared Towards Main Event and WPT Nottingham

All of the events in the PokerFest Live series award seats into future events as part of the prize money. For example, the “£150,000 guaranteed” Mini event guarantees to pay out £117,000 in cash and one hundred seats (worth £33,000) into the PokerFest Live Main Event.

Similarly the cash available in the “£300,000 guaranteed” Main Event is only £245,000, as the top twenty-five players will be awarded seats worth £2,200 each into the forthcoming WPT Nottingham Main Event.

Similar distributions of cash and tournament entries form the prize pools for all the side events; which unusually for a UK-based live tournament series includes a Senior´s event (must be over 50 years old to play) and a Ladies event.

The full schedule looks like this:

Event #1 – £150,000 guaranteed “Mini” – buy-in £60 + £10

Twelve online Day 1s between Sunday 23^rd August and Friday 28^th August, and five live Day 1s between Friday 28^th August and Sunday 30^th August. The live Day 2 starts later in the day on Sunday 30^th August, with the tournament concluding on Monday 31^st August.

Event #2 – £20,000 guaranteed “Second Chance” – buy-in £60 + £10

The second chance event has three Day 1s over Saturday 29th and Sunday 30^th August, and concludes on Sunday 30^th August. The prize distribution is £18,350 in cash and five seats into the PokerFest Live Main Event.

Event #3 – £5,000 guaranteed “6-Max” – buy-in £60 + £10

This is a one-day event on Monday 31^st August awarding £4,340 in cash prizes and two seats into the PokerFest Live Main Event.

Event #4 – £30,000 guaranteed “Seniors Event” – buy-in £300 + £30

Finding 100 seniors to compete in this event might be asking a lot for a two-day tournament that starts on Tuesday 1^st September and that awards two £2,200 seats into the WPT Nottingham Main Event out of the prize money.

Event #5 – £15,000 guaranteed “Ladies Event” – buy-in £300 + £30

Another two-day event – this time exclusively for lady poker players – gets underway on Wednesday 2^nd September, with the winner having an entry to the WPT Nottingham Main Event included in their prize money.

Event #6 – £15,000 guaranteed “PLO Double Chance” – buy-in £300 + £30

Pot Limit Omaha players get an opportunity to display their skills in this two-day tournament which also gets underway on Wednesday 2^nd September, and which also awards the winner a seat in the (NLHE) WPT Nottingham Main Event.

Event #7 – £60,000 guaranteed “High Roller” – buy-in £1,000 + £100

If you are a lady player with a big bankroll who enjoys PLO, you will be spoilt for choice, as this two-day event also starts on Wednesday 2^nd September. A substantial £8,800 will be deducted from the guaranteed prize pool to award WPT Nottingham seats to the top four players.

Event #8 – £300,000 guaranteed “Main Event” – buy-in £300 + £30

As well as the online Day 1 on Sunday 23^rd August, four further online Day 1s are scheduled daily from Sunday 30^th August to Wednesday 2^nd September. There is a live Day 1 scheduled for Monday 31^st August (because it is a bank holiday in the UK) and then five more live Day 1s between Thursday 3^rd September and Saturday 5^th September.

Day 2 of the PokerFest Live Main Event starts on Saturday 5^th September, and the tournament concludes on Sunday 6^th September. As mentioned above, the top twenty-five players will be awarded £2,200 seats into the WPT Nottingham Main Event out of the prize pool.

Event #9 – £60,000 guaranteed “Second Chance” – buy-in £300 + £30

A second “second chance” event is scheduled over the weekend of 5^th and 6^th September for players still looking for an elusive cash. The top four players will also pick up WPT Nottingham Main Event entries as part of their prize money.

Event #10 – £15,000 guaranteed “6-Max” – buy-in £300 + £30

The final event of PokerFest Live is a 6-Max tournament played on Sunday 6^th September. Judging by the guarantee, Dusk till Dawn is not expecting a big entry, so it could be an ideal opportunity to pick up the last remaining WPT Nottingham Main Event seat offered during the series.

Don´t Fancy Going to Nottingham?

If you do not fancy going to Nottingham to compete in the PokerFest Live series, PartyPoker has also announced the dates and schedule for a “regular” Online PokerFest series. The series will run from Sunday 26^th September until Sunday 11^th October and includes eighty events with combined guaranteed prize pools of $2.5 million (all cash!).
