Chris Webber, who picked up the largest cash prize of £10,390 (€11,780/$16,575) by outlasting a 65-player field in the Summer Series 3B’s £500 (€567/$798)+£50 (€56.70/$79.80) main event at the Grosvenor Casino Southampton, is the first player to collect two wins this series.
Steve Vigor left the GUKPT Southampton tournament with £3,300 (€3,742/$5,263) after winning the £200 (€227/$319) No-Limit Hold’em Double Chance Freezeout, Mukesh Morjaria pocketed £2,490 (€2,823/$3,972) for his £150 (€170/$239) No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout success, and Guijar Nitoo collected £1,025 (€1,162/$1,635) by taking the £100 (€113.40/$159.50) Bounty Booster event as well as £2,400 (€2,721/$3,827) for a second-place finish in the Double Chance Freezeout.
Meanwhile, further north in England, Michael Arnot took the top prize of £7,820 (€8,867/$12,470) for his £500 (€567/$798)+£50 (€56.70/$79.80) main event win at the Summer Series 3A at the G Casino Sheffield.
Garry Hallows might have finished third in the Sheffield main event for £3,910 (€4,433/$6,235), but he had a great few days after also picking up £1,260 (€1,428/$2,009) for a second place in the £150 (€170/$239) No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout side event as well as £1,460 (€1,655/$2,328) for his third spot in the £200 (€227/$319) No-Limit Hold’em Double Chance Freezeout.
Additonally, Matthew Christopher enjoyed some good fortune when winning the £200 (€227/$319) No-Limit Hold’em Double Chance Freezeout in Sheffield for £2,920 (€3,309/$4,656), as well as pocketing £1,720 (€1,949/$2,743) from the bounty event.
Also in Sheffield, Andrew Walker left with £1,680 (€1,903/$2,680) for lifting the £150 (€170/$239) freezeout title, while John Stokes took £2,455 (€2,781/$3,917) for winning the £100 (€113.40/$159.50) Bounty Booster.
The GUKPT schedule returns next month at Luton’s G Casino, when there will be an eight-day festival from August 14-21.
The £1,000 (€1,133/$1,595)+£70 (€79/$112) main event begins on Friday the 19th, with two separate starting sessions at 12:00 and 18:00 BST, and ends on the Sunday, when the first GUKPT autumn trophy is handed out.
