BetOnline Poker is supporting its new 6+ Hold´em cash games with a daily missions promotion that rewards players with seats in 6+ Hold´em tournaments.
On the 28th of April 2019, BetOnline Poker became the latest online poker site to offer players the option of playing short deck NL Texas Hold´em. However, due to the way in which the site´s Bad Beat Jackpot is distributed when it is won, players have been reluctant to abandon their regular cash games to try out the new format, and consequently, there´s not been much action at the 6+ Hold´em tables.
To address this problem, BetOnline Poker has launched a 6+ Hold´em missions promotion that enables players to continue playing their regular cash games, but rewards them (if they complete their mission) with a seat in a time-limited 6+ Hold´em tournament. The tournaments have fairly decent prize pools, so this promotion is well worth looking into if you play at BetOnline Poker.
The concept behind the promotion is very straightforward. If you play 100 raked hands in a 24 hour period (6:00am ET to 5:59am ET the following day), you will receive a tournament entry ticket to a 6+ Hold´em freeroll taking place at 8:00pm. The 100 raked hands must be played at the same stake level, but you can qualify for more than one freeroll tournament by playing 100 raked hands at one stake level, then another 100 raked hands at a second stake level, and so on. The stake levels are rewards are:
Play 100 raked hands at stakes of | To receive a ticket to a freeroll with a |
---|---|
$0.05/$0.10 | $50 prize pool |
$0.10/$0.25 | $100 prize pool |
$0.25/$0.50 | $150 prize pool |
$0.50/$1.00 | $200 prize pool |
$1.00/$2.00 | $250 prize pool |
You have to register manually for each missions freeroll tournament, and because each one only lasts an hour, there is no late registration. At the end of the hour, the prize pool will be divided between the surviving players according to how many chips they have divided by the total number of chips in play. Therefore, if you finish the tournament with 30,000 chips out of a total of 300,000 chips in play (each player starts with 5,000 chips), you will win a tenth of the prize pool.
If you would like to try playing in a 6+ Hold´em tournament, but you don’t have the desire (or the time) to play 100 raked hands, BetOnline Poker is also hosting fee-free 6+ Hold´em tournaments with buy-ins of $1.00, $2.00, and $5.00. These are not timed tournaments, but rather re-entry tournaments with up to five re-buys allowed during eleven levels (two hours) of late registration. The tournaments are easy to find by filtering the games bar in the tournaments lobby to “Texas 6+”.
Whether or not the 6+ Hold´em tournaments catch on is difficult to predict. BetOnline Poker has a fairly decent and well-supported tournament schedule for “regular” NL Hold´em events, but hasn´t been successful in attracting players to different game formats. Indeed, if you like playing PL Omaha tournaments, the only option you have at the site is Sit & Go games. Maybe the site is waiting to see how well these initial tournaments are supported before adding any more.
Therefore, if you want to see more 6+ Hold´em tournaments at BetOnline Poker, the best thing to do is visit the site today and play in whatever events are scheduled to show the site there is a demand for them. If you have not played at the site before, be sure to read our BetOnline Poker review for details of how to claim a 100% bonus up to $1,000 on your first deposit, and don´t forget to use the BetOnline Poker promo code VIP1000 when making your deposit.
