BetMGM PA is running online poker gaming in Pennsylvania now after the testing phase was completed. What does the site provide players?
Pennsylvania has finally welcomed the online poker site by BetMGM. The new online poker room went live last week after a two-day testing period. No longer are players limited to just PokerStars, they now have access to even more great poker gaming options. So, what does BetMGM’s online poker site offer? Do players have access to a nice selection of cash games and tournament options? Check out what the brand offers below.
Every day, players can log on to BetMGM’s poker site and find something to enjoy. There are multi table tournaments on the schedule each day with options in a range of buy-ins to meet the needs of all types of players. Along with MTTs, there are also Sit and Gos, plus SPINS.
The SPINS option is a lottery sit and go format that partypoker offers. BetMGM operates its poker site via the party platform and players in other states have found SPINS to be lucrative and enjoyable. Along with the regular SNGs and MTTs, the site is also offering guaranteed events throughout the week, which provides players with action that includes large payouts for the top finishers.
So far, the weekend has provided access to major events. On Friday and Saturday night, the site hosted Progressive Knockouts with $7,500 in guaranteed prize pools. On Sunday, the site provides a much larger event, with $40,000 in total prize money. This event has a buy-in of $215.
During the week, the guaranteed events are pretty large as well. There is a Tuesday event with a $12,000 prize pool as well as a $10,000 event that runs every day. So far, the $10,000 events have had an overlay. If the action does not pick up on these events, it would not be surprising to find the operator remove the event from the schedule or cut back on the number of days it is offered.
As BetMGM gets started in Pennsylvania, it is expected they will launch a big online series. Right now, players who join the site are provided access to a Welcome Freeroll. While this is a normal offering from an online poker site, it seems the event is connected to something bigger.
The Welcome Freeroll will provide $40,000 in prizes to 800 people. The top 50 finishers of the event will receive an entry to a Main Event with a $215 buy-in. So, BetMGM is obviously preparing to offer a main event in a series.
Details of the series have not benne made known but according to the tickets players can win from the freeroll, they are good through May 23. So, this means the series will be taking place sometime this month.
We will stay tuned to all details involving BetMGM in Pennsylvania to see what this special series will provide and how players can take part. We expect the series will include some type of satellites or qualifiers so players can try to win a seat at a much lower buy-in.
