PokerStars TCOOPTeam PokerStars Pro Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier can’t wait for the latest series of events that look sure to just increase the world’s largest poker room’s dominance of online poker.

PokerStars’ supremacy just keeps becoming more obvious as the years roll on – and the giants of the internet don’t appear to be easing up on their rivals with the introduction of yet another series for next year.

Triple Crown winner Grospellier, who is a huge fan of turbo events, is gearing himself up for the first ever Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP), which begins on Thursday, January 19.

French star reckons TCOOP will “be so great”

The 30-year-old Frenchman – who is ranked at number one in the world on the Global Poker Index (GPI) – spoke to Poker News about the upcoming series, saying: “This is going to be so great. I love fast-paced online tourneys because there’s so much action, and there’s going to be several different events every day.”

The London-based one-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner added: “It’s going to be perfect to come home from the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) and then get straight back into action online.

“Hopefully I can add a TCOOP title to my SCOOP [PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker] and WCOOP [PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker] ones.”

All you grinders out there should note that the TCOOP begins on January 19, and will provide 50 speedy tournaments of varying games.

Guaranteed prize pool of at least $10 million

The 11-day series – which guarantees a prize pool of at least $10,000,000 – ends on Sunday, January 29, when a $215 buy-in hyper-turbo Wrap Party tournament follows the penultimate $700 buy-in main event that possesses a $1.5 million prize pool.

Buy-ins for this inaugural season of the TCOOP – with no less than four events running every day – will start from as low as $5.50, while the most expensive buy-in is $2,100 for the High Roller tournament, which will also be staged on January 29.
