888Poker Club888Poker is scrapping its existing VIP Rewards Program at the end of the month and replacing it with a more recreational-friendly Players Club.

If you are a recreational poker player who enjoys the odd bit of sports betting and casino action, you are going to love the changes that 888Poker is making to its VIP Rewards Program. From 28th March, [geolink href=””]888Poker[/geolink] is launching a new Players Club – a Club that allows players to earn Gold Coins for completing specific challenges which can then be redeemed for cash.

The challenges will still be predominantly based around poker. However, in order to accelerate the rate at which Gold Coins are earned, players can have a flutter on a soccer match or spin the reels in the casino. The new 888Poker Players Club is intended to be much more rewarding for players who do not have the time to spend at the tables in order to reach monthly VIP status levels.

How the 888Poker Club Will Work

From 28th March, players can hit the tables, bet on sports and play casino games, and earn points as they complete specific challenges. Once enough points have been earned to complete a level, players will be rewarded with a number of Gold Coins consummate to the difficulty of the challenges they have completed. The Gold Coins can then be exchanged for cash, tournament entry tokens or a variety of special offers and branded goods from the 888Poker shop.

Details of the challenges have not been released in advance but, posting on the 2+2 poker forum, a representative of 888Poker has said that they will not be exclusively rake based (so there is no way of calculating the equivalent rakeback). There will be no limit to the challenges – so players who spend longer at the tables will always have a target to aim for – and those who achieve a predetermined number of levels within a month will unlock special bonus levels.

The 888Poker rep also explained that existing players will have the balance of their Reward Points transferred to Gold Coins on the 28th March and that the site will honour existing cashback arrangements for players in the top tiers of the current VIP Rewards Program. The rep added “We are very proud to be launching this new and innovative rewards plan and we expect it to make a very positive impact on our user experience at 888Poker.”

888Poker to Launch Players Club with Special Offers

As soon as the current “Live the Game” promotion has come to a close, 888Poker will be offering several special offers to celebrate the launch of the Players Club. The site is going to pump $100,000 each month into exclusive 888Poker Club freeroll tournaments and award Club Scratchcards to players every time they complete five levels – the Scratchcards offering random cash and tournament entries as prizes. Other special offers will be announced closer to the launch of the Players Club.

No announcement has yet been made about whether 888Poker will continue its no deposit bonus policy of handing out free poker money to players just for downloading the software and creating an account. Currently, players can receive up to $88 in free poker money (varies according to location) without making a deposit – although terms and conditions exist before the funds can be withdrawn.

Consequently, if you are a recreation player who enjoys the odd bit of sports betting and casino action – and you do not yet have an account with 888Poker – it would be in your best interests to visit 888Poker before 27th March to set up your account and wait for the special Players Club offers to come rolling in. If you visit 888Poker from any of the links on this page, you will also be entitled to a 100% match on your first deposit up to $600 (usually $400). Please note there is no special 888Poker bonus code required to take advantage of this offer.
