$4 Million Guaranteed FTOPS XXVII Kicks Off on Sunday

The twenty-seventh running of Full Tilt´s popular FTOPS series gets underway of Sunday, with more than $4 million in guaranteed prize money up for grabs.

A massive fifteen days on online poker starts this coming Sunday 30th November when the twenty-seventh Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) makes a welcome return to our screens. Over the next two weeks, thirty unique and valuable events are scheduled in the Series, culminating with a $1 million guaranteed Main Event.

FTOPS XXVII features several “multi-day” tournaments that will be welcome to players who love deepstack events with long levels, and one event in particular – Event #2 – has fifteen opening flights before reaching a climax on the final day of the Series.

Plenty of Variety in FTOPS XXVII

No online poker series has as much variety in its schedule as FTOPS (not even PokerStars´ WCOOP) and, in addition to the mix of NL Hold´em tournaments that are included in FTOPS XXVII (Turbo, Heads-Up, Rush, Super KO, 6-Max, 4-Max, etc.), events will be hosted in Omaha, Stud, Razz and 6-Card Omaha. Plenty of mixed poker tournaments are also included in the schedule, with the stand-out tournament being Event #25 – the 25-Game Mixed Event.

Players unfamiliar with the format of this tournament (and who struggle to think of a dozen different poker disciplines) will be pleased to discover that the twenty-five games include FL, PL and NL Hold´em, FL, PL and NL Omaha Hi/Lo and FL, PL and NL 2-7 Triple Draw (so, there is nine of the games). To get through the full range of disciplines, some players may have to brush up on their knowledge of “Irish”, Badugi and Courchevel but – with levels of three minutes – it may be possible to ease through these disciplines without playing a hand.

$1 Million Guaranteed Main Event

The highlight of FTOPS XVII is the $1 million guaranteed Main Event which gets underway at 13:30pm (ET) on Sunday 14th December. The tournament has a buy-in of $635.00 and players are allowed to re-enter twice during the seventeen levels of late registration (4½ hours) by which time the blinds will have reached 500/1,000 (ante 125). With starting stacks of 10,000 chips, expect plenty of players to leap in late and try to spin up their 10 big blinds into a massive payday.

A comprehensive satellite schedule provides the opportunity for players with modest bankrolls to compete in the FTOPS Main Event (qualifiers start from $17.64) and a $109.00 buy-in Super Satellite with 40 seats guaranteed to the Main Event is scheduled for 11:15am (ET) on the day of the $1 million guaranteed tournament.
