WSOP Preparing to Stream 60 Final Tables

WSOP Preparing to Stream 60 Final TablesCalling all poker fans! Get ready for the most extensive live coverage of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) as 60 final tables – with only the main event being excluded – from the 43rd annual staging of the planet’s most celebrated poker festival in Las Vegas get the exclusive treatment at WSOP.com.

Of course, the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event will also receive coverage, but that tournament’s final table does not kick off until October 28 for three days of what is sure to be a thrilling climax to the festival.

The $500 buy-in Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em opening event starts on Sunday, May 27, with the final table arriving the next day with a live stream from the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino’s main stage in the Amazon Room at 13:00 PDT (Pacific Daylight Time).

The WSOP expect there to be 34 gold bracelet tournaments covered in the Amazon Room, so providing poker fanatics with an incredible choice during their 45 days of streams.

Extensive Coverage Begins on the 28th

Thereafter, those of us unable to make it out to Vegas will be able to tune in almost every day for exclusive live coverage of up to three final tables from the 28th of this month until Sunday, July 8, when the series concludes with event #59 – a $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament, again at 13:00 PDT.

OK, the coverage will not be exactly live, but a five-minute delay is about as close as you’re going to get, although no hole cards will be shown as all streams must follow gaming regulations.

The Amazon Room’s main stage – which will host the primary streams – will be covered by six cameras as anchor David Tuchman provides in-depth analysis and commentary alongside some of the world’s best-known pros, although the WSOP organisers are still hoping to attract even more big-name players, with those interested encouraged to contact video coordinator Jay ‘WhoJedi’ Newnum through his @WhoJedi account at microblogging website Twitter.

Host David Tuchman Already ‘Excited’

Tuchman is certainly eager for the series start, saying:

It doesn’t get bigger or better than the World Series of Poker. I am excited and humbled to be working with the WSOP to bring the live stream to a hungry and growing audience.

While as many as three final tables will be streamed at any one time, most days will include two final tables, with scheduled start times of 13:00 PDT and 14:00 PDT. However, as it is impossible to predict when exactly a final table will begin, the WSOP have emphasised that announcements will be forthcoming through their Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/WSOP.

Additionally, when the main stage in the Amazon Room is being utilised, the Pavilion Ballroom stage and Amazon Room Purple section will host the second and third final tables. When a third final table is running – which will only be twice – WSOP will employ an almost documentary style fly-on-the-wall process via two cameras with audio coming from the tournament director’s microphone.

Archived Streams Available

Now, if you are unable to view the final-table streams live, never fear as Veetle – the official streaming provider for the series – and the WSOP organisers have got together to create an archive that will allow all poker fans the opportunity to replay any event whenever the like.

How’s that for service? I can see long nights on the horizon for those of us in Europe, and early mornings even further east. Make sure you’re ready, of course – or prepare to face the wrath of angry bosses as you nod off at work!

Also, look out for Poker News Report’s build-up to the WSOP in the very near future as there are now only 16 days until the festival kicks off in Vegas. We’re excited, as I’m sure you all are, too. Bring it on!
