Qualifiers Underway for William Hill Poker Festival
Low buy-in satellites started yesterday for William Hill Poker´s €400,000 guaranteed Festival series that runs from Friday 28th April to Sunday 7th May.
It seems like a long while since William Hill Poker hosted a valuable online tournament series, but patience has finally been rewarded with the site´s Festival series that starts a week on Friday. Although the forty-event series is unlikely to set the pulses racing in terms of variety, there could be significant value among a few of the events and in the satellite schedule that started yesterday.
The Festival comprises of a mix of regular William Hill Poker tournaments with a few additions thrown in. All the events are played in various formats of NL Texas Hold´em (6-Max, 8-Max or full ring), with all bar the last event of each evening having the site´s regular tournament structure – the last event each evening is either a turbo event or a shootout.
William Hill Poker Festival Highlights
Looking at the schedule, the tournaments offering the best opportunities for a little value appear to be the first ones each evening. Typically these have a guaranteed prize pool of between 500x and 1,000x the buy-in, with the early highlights being the opening 8-Max event on Friday 28th April (buy-in €10.00) and the €50,000 guaranteed 8-Max event on Sunday 30th April (buy-in €50.00).
There is a nice €20,000 guaranteed full ring tournament on Sunday 7th May with a buy-in of €20.00 but, as this tournament starts during the late registration period for the €100,000 guaranteed Main Event, there is unlikely to be much of an overlay. The date also corresponds with the penultimate opportunity players have to win a Monster Package to Las Vegas at William Hill Poker.
Potentially More Value in Satellite Qualifiers
In the run up to the Festival series, William Hill Poker will be hosting extra Festival satellite qualifiers in addition to their regular tournament ticket satellites. The low buy-in Festival satellite qualifiers offer the same guarantees as the regular satellites but, as Festival tournament tickets won in these qualifiers are not exchangeable for any non-Festival event, they are likely to be less competitive.
Be sure to watch out for satellite qualifiers to other William Hill Poker promotions and do not enter the wrong one by mistake. The site´s satellite schedule also includes qualifiers for the daily Championship and Sunday Majors events, as well as to the finals of the Las Vegas promotion. Again, tournament tickets won in these satellites are not exchangeable to events in the William Hill Poker Festival.
